We were 1st introduced to Maureen Chen when she modeled for us at the AutoCon show last December. She obviously made a good lasting impression on us. Due to popular demand among the fellow junkies here, we decided to have some sit-down time and get to know her on another level and snap a couple shots.
MBJ: Do you have any nicknames?
MC: Momo…. or just “Mo”~
MBJ: How did you get your start modeling automotive tuner scene?
Momo: I was walking around in the Nisei car show in 2009 Summer time. Few people came up to me and asked if I were interested in being featured on the HIN magazine in Indonesia.
After a few ads and several photo shoots, Import Tuner Carter Jung asked me if I would like to do a test shoot for him. After getting on the cover of IT, Dsport, people started noticing me as Maureen Chen. This is how it all got started.
MBJ: How long have you been modeling?
Momo: About 2 years in the US.
MBJ: Do you remember your 1st modeling gig?
Momo: I did a commercial for MRT (Metro Rapid Transportation) in Taiwan. They were looking for a cold, independent look which I had at that time, and I was fully clothed! lol
MBJ: I hear you are into the whole car scene, is that true?
Momo: Yes, it’s a work of art of human need. I truly enjoy it even without girls right next to the car sometimes.
(Having a girl right next to the car can definitely spice up the car show and attract the crowd for sure!)
MBJ: What would you say is the best thing about modeling in the scene?
Momo: I get to be paid to travel around the world and meet different people and learn different cultures.
I also get to know more about car industry and have the privilege to work with various amazingly talented photographers.
Special Thanks to: Arkym carbon, Vanguard exhaust , Avantgarde Wheels & Pyspeed, They customized my ride to MC edition. (MC as Maureen Chen.) During the time I was traveling to Vegas and Vancouver, my car was modeling all over the place too!
MBJ: What would you say is the worst thing about the modeling scene?
Momo: There are quite a few – Trying to touch my body when taking photos, some rude guys even take pics in the inappropriate places.
In addition, there has been an impersonator trying to talk to my friends on Facebook. I have to deal with those un-friendly and perverted comments. (Move-on and think positively or take it as compliments)
MBJ: What would be your dream car?
Momo: My dream car would be Bugatti Veryon. I’m lucky enough to eye-witness the fastest and the most expensive car when I travel to Berlin for a show. lol~
MBJ: Could you picture yourself driving a Mercedes?
Momo: Yes, having a man in uniform as my driver to pick me up is my biggest fantasy. Or wearing sexy dress with stilettos and valet parking at a night club or nice hotel.
MBJ: Nice, any particular model?
Momo: If money is an object, I would totally go for Mercedes 1937 540K just putting in my garage. Real beauty never ages. Same with a car that has the most classic design.
This car to me looks like woman that has big eyes with a beautiful cleavage in front.
As a daily driver, I would choose E350. Because everything is automatic and elegant very suitable for a lazy-ass like me! lol~
MBJ: What turns you on in men?
Momo: Good hygiene with his body, room and his car, good sense of humor, good driving skills, good heart who loves animals, and respect other people. A guy who is being himself and honest to his feelings.
MBJ: What turns you off in men?
Momo: Dirty, rude, too competitive (like he has to be No1 on everything), arrogant, selfish, indecisive, stingy, No respect to other people.
MBJ: What would be your ideal man?
Momo: A man who is genuine, polite, and doesn’t lie.. (White lie is okay.)
MBJ: What’s the worst pick line a guy has told you?
Momo: I still remember when I was at trade show and a guy asked me: She is taking her cloths off. Will you do that for me?
I really hope I can slap him at that moment, but I still responded him nicely: Nope. but thanks for asking…. (With a smile and walked away.)
MBJ: What would be 5 words that best describe you?
Momo: Sensitive, Genuine, Artistic, Elegant, Optimistic.
MBJ: Finish this sentence, I hate it when…
Momo: Others say Rude and negative comments. (I got really stressed out but I learned not to look at them now.)
MBJ: Anything in this world you could not live without?
Momo: I hate to be materialistic, but I think no one can survive without having money in the bank.
MBJ: Any movies or TV shows you love and would recommend?
Momo: I’m kind of old fashion rather relax and not torturing my brain cell when it comes to a movie. I’m very into funny movie like: Shrek series. Not only has lot of lovely animals. But also teach us never judge a person by the look.
Scary movies like Saw series is “No No No” to me.. I don’t like to see people bleeding and suffering in front of me.
MBJ: What music do you usually listen to in your car?
Momo: House, Techno music or slow jam. (Either very fast dance music or slow love songs)
MBJ: Are you an Iphone or Blackberry girl?
Momo: Iphone all the way! =D
MBJ: Do you prefer Facebook or Twitter?
Momo: Facebook only, but I’m afraid FB will have too many sexual pics and outrages status like myspace one day .
You can find me or like me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/MaureenChenFanPage
